Short Overview
In general, Wildlife Safari is an adventure of one night and two days of outdoor activities. Meanwhile, a drive takes you on a scenic and interesting highway down south as hills slowly disappear into the flat land of Terai, the main agricultural area of Nepal.
Most importantly, you can enjoy a mesmerizing natural scene and wildlife. At the same time, various exciting activities like Jungle walk, Tharu Village tour, Canoe trip, Bird watching, etc.
Chitwan National Park is regarded as the best park in Asia due to its varied wildlife, exotic bird species, and 43 species of mammals. Likewise, it is listed in World Heritage Sites that covers an area of 932 sq. km, famous for its endangered and elusive “Royal Bengal Tiger”.
Overall, the park is home to one-horned Rhinoceros, freshwater Gharial, crocodiles, wild elephants, four-horned antelopes, and more. Besides, other animals found in the park include Sambar, barking deer, sloth bear, palm civets, langurs, and rhesus monkeys.
The park is also famous for 450 species of birds like peacocks, Red Jungle fowl, Herons, Kingfishers, Flycatchers, Woodpeckers, etc. Above all, bird watching is best around March and December.
Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Early morning drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan.
Day 02: Afternoon drive back to Kathmandu.
Detail Itinerary of Chitwan Wildlife Safari
Day 01: Drive to Chitwan National Park premises and transfer to the hotel.
Morning travel by private vehicles with an exciting overland drive on the main Kathmandu to Chitwan highway. In addition, leading through Himalayan foothills, on reaching Tadi Bazaar at Chitwan where a short drive leads you to your respective hotels within a place called Sauraha.
On arrival at Chitwan hotels, welcome drinks and briefing about jungle activities and programs. After refreshment, afternoon activity with a short walk to nearby Tharu village, the indigenous tribe of the Terai belt. Especially, enjoy the dinner with fascinating Tharu cultural dance in the evening.
Day 02: Wild-Life Safari and Jungle activities then afternoon drive back to Kathmandu.
Generally, programs and activities begin early after breakfast, morning Bird Watching tours, Jungle walks, nature walks, elephant or Jeep safari with elephant bathing including a Canoe trip.
Lastly, after lunch, drive to Kathmandu on the same interesting highway to reach the city of Kathmandu after a great thrill on a wildlife safari in Chitwan national park.
